Praesta LEADERS IN EXECUTIVE COACHING

Elizabeth Anderson

Since it is individuals, rather than organisations, that tend to limit success, Elizabeth is passionate about supporting clients by coaching them towards and through their desired change. She enourages them to articulate, more clearly, their operational preferences, and how to utilise these to best effect in their particular business environment. She is totally client focused, and recognised for her ability to be emphathetic, engaging and enabling, yet remaining solution focused, objective and unafraid to challenge, where this is necessary.

Experience

Elizabeth has worked with boards and senior executives for more than 20 years. Before qualifying as an executive coach she was a corporate and commercial lawyer, both in the City and within the commercial environment. Most of her clients have had to manage organisational change, including major corporate transformational and structural change, many of whom were high achieving individuals or those engaged in strategic development of their organisations. She has worked with clients ranging from large corporates through to entrepreneurs and high net worth individuals.

Elizabeth became well acquainted with the challenges for executives working their way to the most senior positions in organisations, and the different focus required to maintain those positions. Clients comment that they have experienced her as insightful, able to tune in to their needs and act appropriately. Her legal background has supported her ability to get to grips with clients' issues quickly, allowing them to feel heard, understood and motivated to change.

Elizabeth has always been at her best acting as a sounding board for senior executives on confidential significant issues. She has supported her clients well through major corporate activities. Clients commented that they particularly liked her ability to get alongside them, to be able to work quickly and get to grips with highly technical information in order to assist them in arriving at the solution best suited to the matter or concern.

Elizabeth has always enjoyed being a facilitator of innovative change and promoter of new edge thinking. She was a founding member of The International Communications Round Table (ICRT), an informal, cross-sectoral global grouping of 27 leading publishing, media, computer, and communications companies. She publicly encouraged new ways of working together in her legal specialisms of TMT and e-commerce, speaking regularly at events such as the Frankfurt Book Fair. She spent much time trying to nurture and foster commercial activity growth with the academic and scientific communities, assisted by organisations such as AIRTO (Association of Independent Research & Technology Organisations). She was a contributor to the book "Electronic Publishing Strategies".

Professional Expertise

Dual qualified as a solicitor in Scotland and England, Elizabeth practised as a lawyer first in Linklaters, and then Clifford Chance, before joining Pearson in the dual role of Legal Advisor and Deputy Company Secretary. She was a director of a number of Pearson Group companies. She went on to become the first Legal Director of global publishing house, Macmillan Publishers, before going on to encourage the growth of e-commerce through her legal practice work.
