The great gift I as a coach can offer my client is space and time to reflect, away from the pressures and demands of the workplace, as someone whose only focus and agenda is the client. After twelve years as a coach, I still gain immense satisfaction from helping clients unlock and unravel the complexities of their business lives. It’s marvellous how often two and two really can make five.

Experience

Following an early career in teaching, Chris worked in shipping, followed by a 10-year spell in an international Management Consultancy which focused on organisation and management/executive development. He left, having risen to General Manager, to become Partnership Manager for Thomson McLintock (now KPMG) with responsibility for all business functions. Subsequently, he set up similar roles within a leading specialist law firm and a leading quantity surveyor. In all three positions, he found himself acting informally as a coach and took up coaching full-time in 1994 with the leading practice at the time. He joined The Change Partnership in 1999 as a Director.

Chris is a highly experienced executive coach. He focuses on supporting senior executives in leadership positions, on helping ‘high potentials’ prepare for the step change from functional to general management, and on enabling the newly promoted or hired to settle in smoothly.

Outside work, he writes occasional articles for the yachting press and is a past Vice-President of the Cruising Association.

We are a member of the European Mentoring & Coaching Council (EMCC) and subscribe to the EMCC code of ethics (see www.emccouncil.org). The EMCC exists to promote good practice and the expectation of good practice in mentoring and coaching across Europe.
